The Material Shop Hand position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to manufacture product. In this role you will fabricate parts and set up and perform operations on all forming slitting punching and testing machinery for solids and metal media elements. This role will promote continuous improvement and adheres to all health and safety procedures. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn different machines and processes.
This position is part of the Porous Metal Filtration department and will be located in Cortland NY. 2nd or 3rd shift available.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Operate punch press shears and other fabrication operations.
- ABILITY TO SETUP AND OPERATE DRILL PRESSES SHEERS ROLLS & BRAKE PRESSES PUNCH PRESSES AND OTHER SUPPORTING EQUIPMENT.
- Layout and fit up work from blueprints or other written instructions.
- Move material parts or components and complete required paperwork from one location to another.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High School Degree/GED required.
- Must be able to read blue prints.
- Must have at least 18 months of relevant experience in fabrication including punch press operation.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Lean Manufacturing.
- Inspection of material to meet customer demand.
- Basic computer skills.

The hourly rate for this role is $33.02. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
