Position type: HourlyRESPONSIBILTIES:
- Studies work orders blueprints engineering plans materials specifications interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Operates computercontrolled lathe and/or milling machinery including setup and program editing with ability to produce advanced routine/nonroutine parts and components.
- Perform machining operations on a variety of CNC milling machines including multiple setups in place machining of fixtures and debugging first run programs.
- Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool length offset equipment.
- Perform workpiece inprocess inspection by checking accuracy of work against blue prints/specifications using advanced gaging techniques for product conformity.
- Collaborate with machinists planners programmers and engineers to evaluate needs troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED. 5 to 7 years machining experience in a manufacturing production environment.
- Advanced knowledge of concepts practices and procedures involving CNC machines including editing computeraided software and their applications.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
- High level proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and fabrication drawings.
- Solid math geometry and trigonometry skills and understanding GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
