TITLE:Network Firewall Engineer

Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology (IT).
2. Experience designing developing deploying and maintaining wired and wireless network infrastructure.
Desired Education and Experience:
1. Certification in Firewall Management Cisco products (CCNA CCNP or similar)
2. Certification in networking principles Aruba and Cisco products.
3. Experience working in a teamoriented collaborative environment.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Ensure the stability security and integrity of network infrastructure network security voice data video and wireless network services. This role takes charge of firewall management ACL policy and firewall segregated VLANs while diligently monitoring firewall security alerts. In addition to participating in the installation monitoring maintenance support and optimization of all network technologies responsibilities extend to analyzing and promptly resolving networkrelated issues and cybersecurityrelated events with precision. Cybersecurity guidance and recommendation is presented with thorough research and recommendation of technologies spanning from desktop to network levels. Continuous application of independent judgment is essential in executing these duties. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the technology department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assess customer needs and provide information or assistance to resolve problems or satisfy their expectations.
2. Collaborate with leadership to assess longterm and shortterm network capacity needs.
3. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration network mapping processes and service records.
4. Engineer deploy and manage company LANs firewall segregated VLANs WANs and wireless networks; configuration of switches access points UPSs and other infrastructure hardware.
5. Manage IP addressing firewall and network security systems to control network traffic by establishing and enforcing approved rules and policies.
6. Troubleshoot firewall issues e.g. port blockage VLAN segregation Network Address Translation (NAT).
7. Configure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) remote access methods.
8. Design routing protocols and configure load balancers to optimize network traffic and ensure redundancy.
9. Conduct research on emerging network products services protocols and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
10. Oversee new and existing equipment hardware and software. Plan and coordinate upgrades and patches for systems including firewall.
11. Interact negotiate and work with vendors outsourcers and contractors to secure network and other technology related products and services.
12. Ensure network connectivity of all servers security systems workstations telephony equipment fax machines and other network appliances.
13. Monitor and test network performance including firewall security alerts and dashboard and respond or remediate accordingly.
14. Practice network asset management including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
15. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
16. Participate in managing all network security solutions.
17. Consistently reflect on performance apply lessons learned and model personal accountability & teamwork.
