Teacher: Allied Health/Nursing Chapter 74 Vocational Education Program Worcester Technical High School a blue ribbon technical vocational school is soliciting applications for theschool year. The successful applicant will be accountable for teaching students the Health Assisting/Nursing Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Allied Health/Nursing Department Head at Worcester Technical High School.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)1. Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.2. Responsible for the integration of the departments curriculum where appropriate.3. Performance of other jobrelated duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts DESE teachers Licensure (Chapter 74 in Nurse Assisting 914 or the ability to be licensed within one year.2. Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.3. Registered nurse (RN) currently licensed4. Strong background in clinical emergency room and hospital care. 5. Working knowledge of computer applications in the health industry6. Evidence of supervisory experience for Health Care Industry operations.7. 3 years of of full time employment related to health assisting.8. Bachelors Degree9. SEI EndorsementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Nursing experience to include 1 year of Long term Care experience.2. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.3. Ability to speak speak Albanian Arabic Nepali Portuguese Spanish Vietnamese or an African Language4. Experience teaching students who are English language learners5. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.6. Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years).
