Are you interested in tackling key challenges in large (NLG) foundation models with a neurosymbolic approach

Youll join as Senior Research Scientist with a strong team taking a different approach to developing scalable accurate and reliable AI.

Presently many companies developing large language generation models have developed solutions using only a transformerbased approach which can solve challenges quickly but are mostly generic models often sacrificing accuracy creating hallucinations bias and lacking trustworthiness.

This company is looking to change that. They are combining the latest advances in Deep Learning approaches Transformers/LLMs with knowledge & graph based approaches and ML / Reinforcement learning.

Your role as a Senior Research Scientist will be to work on research in neurosymbolic AI knowledge and reasoning. Youll work closely with other researchers to drive breakthroughs in research applying unique new approaches solve various challenges and inspire the team to do the same. Youll be designing & building architectures that can scale on extremely large amounts of data for the two main components of their system.

As the tech is still not super mature youll have the freedom to innovate and experiment making a true impact on the future of this product.

Youll need a strong background in either Natural Language with recent experience in Natural Language Generation (NLG) and LLMs at scale including finetuning and/or pretraining. Or youll have a background in reasoning (ideally symbolic reasoning). If youve built AI systems using GNNs and reinforcementlearning or have a background in neurosymbolic AI youre someone wed love to consider.

As this is Senior level were looking for circa 5 years in the industry however if you have a PhD with relevant research wed consider fewer years in industry roles. Research publications or patents are expected especially those of relevance in Neurosymbolic ai reasoning natural language generation or knowledgebased approaches. This company plans to start publishing papers in the future.

Youll be in good hands as your team is made up of great minds from various wellknown companies developing AI systems applied scientists research engineers and software engineers. The founder was the creator of the technology behind one of the most widely used conversational AIs in the world. This is a fastmoving startup so it would be beneficial if youve worked for startups (or a startupstyle environment prior).

Youll be financially remunerated with a base salary between(negotiable dependent on experience). As part of your package youll receive stock options 25 days of vacation (plus public holidays) pension and more.

Whilst remote is considered for industryleading candidates the preference is for someone to be based out of their central London office at least 1 day per week. Visa sponsorship and relocation support can be provided if you are planning to relocate.
