Job Description

We currently have an opening for a student to fill a Coop position to begin in Fall 2025 at our Brookfield WI office (approximately 10 miles west of downtown Milwaukee). We are looking for students with an interest in gaining practical engineering experience from experienced project managers engineers and technicians through onthejob training on real projects. During this time you will be encouraged to hone your problemsolving abilities and your develop technical skills.


Our Coop program consists of 3 coop terms (summer can count as a term). raSmith Coops receive extensive training and mentorship throughout their work terms. This program serves as a gateway to a fulltime position with raSmith after graduation.


This rotational coop will work in our Municipal Construction and Transportation/Traffic divisions. The student in this role will perform a variety of engineering tasks in each division to provide an understanding of that divisions methods practices and programs.

Rotational Coop Primary Responsibilities

Work tasks vary based on division but will include:

  • Civil 3D design tasks to assist project engineers
  • Field screenings including sewer and outfall monitoring
  • Exhibit Preparation
  • Construction observation field work

Requirements

Rotational Coop Skills and Requirements:

Qualified Students must meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed the Freshman Year of a 4year Bachelor of Science Program in Civil Engineering at a U.S. accredited college or university and coursework in Civil Engineering.
  • Have technical skills to include exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products
  • Able to solve basic engineering problems; good decisionmaking skills
  • Have excellent communication detail orientation interpersonal skills and be a team player.
