Who we are looking for
This technical leadership role focuses on building and strengthening GHDs market share in the Ontario helping to develop a pipeline of work in line with the groups business plan overseeing and delivering projects to the satisfaction of our clients and showing technical leadership across the Region and beyond.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Define the scope of highway roads and bridgeprojects design innovative solutions to meet more complex client challenges and lead project / design teams to deliver those solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across the Service Line with an emphasis on growing GHDs capabilities and expertise.
- Work closely with other disciplines within the Region to ensure a comprehensive approach to multidisciplinary design projects.
- Undertake peer reviews of designs completed by others within the discipline.
- May be called upon from time to time by local bodies as an industry specialist or for expert witness testimony.
- Assist Engineering Manager in resourcing the group ensure appropriate expertise is attracted and maintained.
- Act as Project Director for mediumsized projects resolving issues between the Project Manager the client and other team members.
- Overseeing and taking accountability for performance and risk of projects.
- Lead the development and submission of proposals for large complex or highrisk projects.
- Identify and develop new service offerings for our clients.
- Building GHDs market presence through involvement in industry forums. Actively contribute in thought leadership in the industry by publishing papers or regular conference speaking.
- Crossselling of opportunities within the existing client base and promoting services up the value chain such as Digital and Advisory.
- Supervise support and train team members. Establishing mentoring relationships with seniors.
- Developing the team contributing to keeping team knowledge up to date with technical regulatory and industry trends.
- Ensuring return on investment of time spent on proposals vs work won and helping to maintain the utilization of team.
- Identify areas of practice that require enhancement to meet present or future opportunities and work with the Business Group Leader or Market Leader to identify strategies to address these gaps.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Eligible for or hold the relevant engineering registration for Ontario requirements.
- Applies a mastery of a specific professional discipline or broader expertise in most or all areas within a discipline demonstrated in a relevant industry or consulting business.
- Proven experience in the technical leadership and management of highway roads and bridgeengineering projects.
- Extensive knowledge of MTO TAC and industry best practice familiarity with international design standards.
- A track record for delivering exceptional client experience proven ability to cross sell and identify new service offerings.
- A valid drivers license.
