Job Summary
A successful candidate will show an interest in creating a collaborative openminded and trustfilled environment that supports the efforts of the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science (Jonsson School) across the UT Dallas Campus DFW Region and beyond. The successful candidate should possess a passion for public education impact for donors and students and an understanding of the fields of business management. In addition the ideal candidate should possess a high level of respect for all people and a customer service mentality that emphasizes the importance of relationships. Possessing the values of being innovative impactdriven and a commitment to excellence are essential for the success of the Jonsson School development and alumni relations team. This person will have a commitment to selfimprovement and will continuously hone their leadership fundraising skills and knowledge of the Jonsson School through a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development this position is responsible for managing the development and alumni relations program for the Jonsson School. As the chief development officer for the Jonsson School this position will actively qualify cultivate and solicit prospective major and principal gift donors. This position is based within the Jonsson School and works alongside the Dean and Associate Dean of External Relations. This position will work closely with the Assistant Vice President and the Dean to develop and execute shortterm and longterm strategies to engage and cultivate prospective donors to meet the established Jonsson School campaign goal for our New Dimensions Campaign. The Assistant Dean will manage a team of professional staff to enhance the vision culture metrics and strategic plan. In addition this person will identify cultivate solicit and steward a portfolio of top major gift and principal gift prospects with the capacity and interest to make a philanthropic commitment in support of the Jonsson School and document all prospect activity in the Universitys alumni and donor management database. The Assistant Dean will manage the Jonsson Schools Executive Council and also serve on the School Leadership Council which is led by the Dean of the Jonsson School. The individual will collaborate with staff in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations including leaders in other units communications alumni relations and corporate and foundation relations to develop effective approaches to cultivation solicitation and stewardship of donors for the Jonsson School Development and Alumni Relations team.
