Job Description

Duties And Responsibilities
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s)of any particular position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar related or a logical assignment to this classification. Teach accounting courses such as Financial Accounting Managerial Accounting Intermediate Accounting Auditing and other accounting courses as assigned Teach courses during the day evening or online as needed Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curricula Consult with students during regularly scheduled office and lab hours Participate as a member of department division and college committees Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs

Minimum Qualifications
Masters or above in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelors in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND Masters or above in business business administration business education economics taxation finance OR the equivalent NOTE : A bachelors degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline. Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff

Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience working with racially minoritized and other disproportionatelyimpacted students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups within higher education and particular fields shape patterns of participation and outcomes Willingness to examine and remediate ones instructional relational and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized and other disproportionately impacted students Experience and skill with addressing inequity in the classroom and on campus Experience and expertise in culturallyresponsive teaching in accounting Demonstrated ability to address equity gaps within accounting courses and classrooms Demonstrated knowledge of the implications of the HispanicServing Institution designation for institutional departmental and instructional practices
