Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager for projects in the Austin/San Antonio Texas area. The assistant project manager performs a variety of jobsite administrative duties including but not limited to the following: quantity tracking cost control scheduling engineering design implementation document control job cost forecasting subcontract management and procurement. When not assigned to a project the Assistant Project Manager may assist other departments as necessary.

- Scheduling and coordination of the project

- Participate as a Multirater in annual reviews of subordinates
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage document control system including RFIs submittals correspondence and meeting notes.
- Review submittals for proper coordination and adherence to the plans and specifications.
- Assist with startup activities on the project working with the superintendent.
- Perform a variety of tasks associated with completion of a project (e.g. closeout documentation completion reports collection of final monies due SWPPP NOT).
- Prepare and submit the monthly pay request for Owners and architects ensuring that billings are processed in an accurate timely manner. Work with Owner on Unit Price contracts to reconcile billings.
- Distribute proposed changes for pricing prices any selfperform work verifies subcontractor pricing and evaluates the schedule impact due to the change in scope. Submit proposed changes ensuring that necessary Owner approvals have been obtained in writing before construction work begins and notify the superintendent of the accepted changes.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining job cost reporting in accordance with company policy.
- Assist the superintendent in the development of Work Plans.
- Assist in creating and maintaining general schedule and update schedule as job progresses or changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and quality reviews ensuring follow up inspections for all noncompliant work.
- Make periodic inspections of work areas to ensure a safe work environment. Ensure all company policy OSHA and contractual requirements are met.
- Together with the project manager ensure compliance with all federal state and municipal laws ordinances and building codes related to construction. Included are company policies and procedures concerning employment compensation health safety and labor/management relations. Take corrective action as necessary to
ensure compliance. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or equivalent preferred but may be substituted by experience.
- At least 5 years of DOT project management experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management.
- Able to prioritize tasks and projects effectively with excellent time management organization and prioritization skills to accomplish desired results
- Ability to work in a fastpaced team environment and meet deadlines.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in the construction industry with projects in the fields of heavy highway bridges heavy civil etc.
- Project management experience in the construction industry with projects in the fields of heavy highway bridges heavy civil etc.
