COLLEGE ACCESS SPECIALIST TRIO EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTERS (EOC)

Highland Community College is seeking a dedicated and motivated College Access Specialist to join our TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) team. This is a fulltime grantfunded position with a focus on providing essential college access services to individuals across Ogle Carroll Stephenson and Winnebago counties. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead outreach events informational sessions and recruitment activities for prospective EOC participants.
- Provide academic advising financial literacy guidance and referrals to help participants prepare for college.
- Offer support for college preparation including ACT/SAT preparation college application and scholarship assistance and financial aid applications.
- Develop and deliver workshops on topics like academic success career development and financial literacy.
- Assist participants in setting and achieving their personal educational and career goals.
- Provide resources and strategies to enhance career awareness exploration and job search skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in counseling education sociology or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience working with lowincome firstgeneration students other disadvantaged populations or in a TRIO program setting.
- Strong ability to work with a diverse population of students and staff.
- Valid drivers license.
- This role requires a criminal background check.
