ABOUT THIS ROLE

A Director of Information Security is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organizations information security policies strategies and procedures. This position typically involves the following responsibilities:

  • Developing and Implementing Security Strategies: The director will design and enforce policies and procedures that protect the organizations computing infrastructure networks and data from both internal and external threats.

  • Risk Management: They will assess and mitigate potential security risks constantly evaluating the organizations security posture and adapting to new challenges and threats.

  • Compliance and Governance: Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding information security and privacy. This includes staying updated with laws and regulations and implementing necessary changes in the security infrastructure.

  • Team Leadership and Management: Leading a team of information security professionals providing guidance and mentorship. This includes hiring training and developing staff to handle various information security functions.

  • Incident Response and Crisis Management: Directing the response to information security incidents including developing and implementing a crisis management plan.

  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Collaborating with IT legal HR and other departments to align the security strategies with business objectives and operational requirements.

  • Budget Management: Managing the budget for information security including investments in security software/hardware and staff training.

  • Reporting and Communication: Reporting to upper management about the status of the organizations security posture and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Keeping Current with Technology and Trends: Staying updated with the latest in technology threats and security standards to ensure the organizations defenses remain effective.

  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Working with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure that thirdparty services align with the organizations security policies.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in information security excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to strategize and implement effective security measures. They should also be adept at crisis management and possess a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding information security.


YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years of experience in Information Technology

  • 5 years of experience in Information Security

Base pay offered may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills experience and office location. This position also may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to a range of health & wellness benefits enhancing your overall compensation package.
