Job Description
Associate China
Eurasia Group isseeking a motivated analyst of Chinas politics and political economy. Thisrole would involve working with the current China team to deepen coverage ofmacroeconomic and financial policies economic reform implementation at thesectorlevel and Chinese political developments. The ideal candidate shouldhave a strong understanding of the contours of Chinese economic policymakingand the politics driving it. We are looking for a candidate with robusttraining in both politics and in macroeconomics.
In this role you will assess the politics of economic policies inChina that are of relevance to Eurasia Groups financial and corporate clients.You will have the ability to analyze specific sectors of the Chinese economyand issues of concern to multinational companies in China such as industrialand technology policies market access barriers and investment regulations.
You will perform indepth research and will write both shortanalyses and longer papers. You will therefore have excellent analytical andpresentation (oral and written) skills and the ability to write in a goodsuccinct style at native English standard.
We are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree in politicsor economics (or equivalent work experience). Your background will need toconvey your capacity as an analyst and your knowledge of China. You mustunderstand the relevance of your analysis to a broad range of investors andcompanies. Previous consulting experience and incountry experience is preferred.Fluent Mandarin Chinese skills are required.
