DescriptionThis is a handson position within Risk Engineering Services that will be responsible supporting the finance needs of Risk Engineering Services. This includes assisting in the monthly and quarterly accounting close process performing planning and forecasting activities and providing clear and accurate reporting to management on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis. Excellent knowledge of EXCEL is a must. Strong problem solving and conflict management skills. Must be result driven with the ability to understand the big picture while managing important detail. Ability to respond to changing priorities while maintaining strong customer focus and relations. Experience in managing complex projects and responsibilities that require collaboration across the organization a must.

- Provide management and business partners with accurate and timely financial and operational information/support so informed business decisions can be made. This will occur through the completion of the following:
- Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and YTD results for completeness and accuracy.
- Compile metrics and analysis on expenses headcount and noninsurance revenue.
- Research and document unusual activity trends or occurrences and inform management of the findings. Continue to follow up on issues until completion.
- Prepare impactful presentation materials for senior management meetings.
- Assist in the implementation of strategies and associated tactical action steps to ensure workflows and processes are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Analyze trends in daily/weekly/monthly production numbers.
- Partner with business units to understand and analyze results and develop accurate plans forecasts and allocations.
- Work with Risk Engineering Services partners to assist in meeting their business and operational goals.
- Contribute to the forecasting annual planning and strategic planning processes.
QualificationsSkills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferred. Will consider substantial related work experience.
- 5 years relevant experience in FP&A accounting or financial analysis roles
- Strong business and financial acumen (experience in a finance/accounting role within the insurance industry is a plus)
- Must demonstrate an orientation to results.
- Ability to work effectively with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization.
- Ability to problem solve and work autonomously to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Experience with relational databases including development management query and reporting (e.g. TM1 PeopleSoft Cognos Access Qlik)
- Understanding of internal reporting systems and tools (BAR Cognos TM1 Qlik etc. a plus
- Must have Advanced knowledge of Excel.
