The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Master of Social Work Intern. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families services and supports that are flexible high quality and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decisionmaking and engagement in the community.
Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.
The position will report directly to a Manager within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and will offer a student work experience in their field of study. This experience will be valuable to a student as a means of allowing them to experience how their studies are applied in the real world by touching vulnerable citizens lives and making a difference.
In consultation with the with Field Instructor the Masters of Social Worker (MSW) Intern develops a learning contract that outlines the Core Competencies performance expectations learning goals methods of achievement and standards of measurements in all the required areas. The MSW Intern meets on a weekly basis with the Field/Task Instructor to review field tasks and learn about the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) policies protocols and organization structure. The MSW Intern provides support to the Field DDD Support Coordination Unit and prepares for an entrylevel generalist social work practice with the individuals families agencies and communities.
Skilled in using various computer systems (e.g. Google Microsoft Word Excel databases etc.
Skilled in oral and written communication including being effective with both internal and
external customers.
Skilled in research and analysis.
Ability to learn and understand how to interpret large quantities of written material.
Ability to learn to elicit accurate data from a variety of sources.
Ability to learn how to organize and manage case files.
Ability to learn how to document case files and information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona State Drivers License.
Ability to travel for InState Business.

Candidate must be actively enrolled in a Masters program pursuing a degree in Social
Work.
Candidate must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business then the following requirements apply: Drivers License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid classappropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to Drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operated a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. (R210201.11.
Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 412758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46459.
Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the abovementioned process and the Agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
