Job Duties
Mig and tig welding including the following:
Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols).
Inspect welds for accuracy.
Prepare product to be welded by grinding drilling milling tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
Change wire welding as needed.
Change gas tanks as needed
Lay out position align and fit components together using applicable machines tools and equipment
Bolt clamp and tackweld parts to secure them in position for final welding
Set up and weld parts using welding equipment
Maintain sufficient knowledge of geometry arithmetic structural design heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal to project locations of holes cuts and bends from blueprints written and typed instructions and manufacturers specs.
Use hand tools and be able to correctly set up and operate applicable shop machines.
Perform arc and oxyacetylene welding cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals in accordance with established methods and procedures.
Maintain production documentation per required procedure
Perform other workrelated tasks as assigned
Comply with all NOV company policies and procedures.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED preferred
experience operating as a commercial welder
Current and valid certification a plus
Welding School a plus
Ability to read blueprints
Must pass Grant Prideco Welding test
