TITLE:Director of Student Services

TYPE OF POSITION:Fulltime 1.0; anticipated start date 7/1/2025; salary commensurate with experience (range $145000$170000/year)

LOCATION:District Hopkinton Massachusetts

Hopkinton Public Schools a toprated district in Massachusetts Metrowest invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Director of Student Services. Hopkinton Public Schools employs over 350 licensed educators and enrolls nearly 4300 students with approximately 14 percent of students receiving special education services. The Director of Student Services ensures that all students can access a challenging curriculum and participate in school life. The Director is responsible for the development implementation supervision and evaluation of programs policies and services in the Department of Student Services. These programs and services include special education SPEDrelated therapies and assessments counseling nursing homebound and hospital services and preschool education. The Director of Student Services reports to the Superintendent of Schools and participates in supervision and evaluation of preschool nursing and guidance professional staff as well as special education administrators special education team chairs and administrative support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Special Education Administrator by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Administrator endorsement;
  2. Minimum of a Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field;
  3. Successful administrative experience in special education;
  4. Other comparable qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate.

DUTIES:

  1. Develops implements supervises and/or evaluates all programs policies and services in the Department of Student Services;
  2. Assures compliance with all state and federal laws regulations and reporting requirements;
  3. Develops and manages the Student Services budget related state and federal grants and data collection for Circuit Breaker and Medicaid reimbursements;
  4. Works collaboratively with other administrators in the selection supervision evaluation and/or training of Student Services staff;
  5. Coordinates transportation for students with disabilities;
  6. Works collaboratively with parents the Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) The Education Cooperative (TEC) the ACCEPT Collaborative 766approved facilities state and federal agencies and other organizations to support students with disabilities;
  7. Other duties as directed by the Superintendent of Schools
