Job Description

The Department of Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a parttime nontenure track position in Chemistry. We seek qualified instructors to teach facetoface lecture and laboratory courses during the summer months with potential to teach in the Fall as well. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.

Salary:

  • 3hour lecture courses/$3000

  • 3hour laboratory courses/$2000

Required Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Chemistry or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Must have 18 graduate credit hours in related area.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience teaching at the college level.

  • Experience working with all students from different backgrounds and settings.

  • Completed Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong selfdiscipline and ability to work independently.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

Finalists will be required to provide three current original letters of recommendation to the Search Committee Chair. The letters should be less than one year old and should bear the writers actual signature.

Before issuing a letter of appointment official transcripts (hard copy or verified ecopy) must be received directly from each degreegranting institution. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
