Job Summary

This advanced level position reviews contracts analyzes all clauses stipulations obligations and liabilities in order to ensure they suit the company and in support of both centralized and field procurement activities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determines the appropriate contract type drafts and reviews contracts and amendments for compliance with CHK requirements (e.g. contracts policy procurement policy payment terms volume discount) under minimal supervision
  • Engages with category management business services business units suppliers and/ or other internal customers during the planning and implementation phase of the contracting process
  • Guides internal customers and suppliers regarding changes to standard contract terms and conditions and drafts nonstandard contract provisions and supporting documents
  • Guides the organization and standardization processes for documentation in support of various supply chain activities
  • Approves contracts in Ariba for exceptions to templated provisions other than legal (e.g. Tax EHS Audit Treasury)
  • Drafts updates maintains contract templates and focus on legal compliance; monitor and advise of contract expiration dates
  • Mentors entry level staff

Job Specific Skills

  • Enhanced knowledge of Aribas Contract Management Module
  • Enhanced knowledge of supply chain policy standards and processes (contracts and compliance)
  • Enhanced knowledge of the strategic sourcing and procurement contracting process and inventory management concepts

Education

Minimum: High school diploma or GED

Preferred: Bachelors degree from accredited university Accounting Finance or related field

Experience

Minimum: 8 12 years related work experience
