Provide entry level support to the Finance Services team based in our Waterloo office. Completing accounts/accounting tasks as the need arises. Deliver services to ensure compliance with all company policies internal controls and procedures.

This position will be based in our Waterloo Office

Key duties

  • Update and maintain collection notes in the system in a timely manner
  • Escalate collection issues to Team Leader/Manager per approved escalation guidelines as required
  • Coordination of client information/master data as required
  • Receipt all monies relating to debtor payments being via EFT cheque and credit card payments as required
  • Follow up unallocated receipts as required
  • Work with team to set and achieve collection strategies on weekly basis
  • Assist with banking progress and supervising against target collections as issued by Group Finance
  • Provide excellent customer service to external and internal contacts
  • Assist the team on other tasks or projects as required.

Performance indicators

  • Delivery of agreed service levels and deadlines.
  • Notification of noncompliance with established procedures.
  • Collaboration cooperation.
  • Consistently achieve set KPIs.

Experience and knowledge

  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated ability to communicate and explain regulations policies processes and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficient in collating organising and analysing data.
  • Excellent time management skills and proven track record to work under pressure plan and prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel Word).
  • Excellent coordination skills with understanding of when to escalate issues.
  • 2 years experience in a similar collections role and basic to intermediate understanding of Accounting and Finance processes is desirable.

  • Internal Clients (project managers finance business partners people team etc).
  • External Clients (vendor clients auditor etc).
