  • SelfDriven learner who could quickly receive or share instruction;

  • Location LASERS is easily accessed near the I10 / I12 split on Essen Lane. The building is far from the downtown congestion and the facility provides ample parking onsite security and a dedicated employee entrance.
  • Workstations Developer workstations include powerful PCs with multiple monitors.
  • Remote Work availablePer LASERS telework policy a hybrid work schedule with up to two 2 days of remote work may be considered after a probational period.

The maximum salary for the IT Applications Developer3 is $96325.00. Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in information technology; OR

Six years of fulltime work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology; OR

An associates degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology; OR

A bachelors degree plus one year of experience in information technology; OR

A bachelors degree with twentyfour semester hours in an information technology computer science engineering mathematics or business analytics field; OR

A masters degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of fulltime work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Concepts

To analyze and develop information technology applications that are outside of the scope of the Office of Technology Services.


LEVEL OF WORK:

Entry.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Close from an IT Supervisor or IT Manager. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

May provide guidance to lowerlevel personnel.


LOCATION OF WORK:

State agencies with application development activities that are outside of the scope of the Office of Technology Services.


JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from other information technology jobs by the presence of tasks relative to applications development activities that are outside of the scope of the Office of Technology Services.

Differs from IT Applications Developer 2 by the absence of experiencedlevel tasks relative to applications development activities that are outside of the scope of the Office of Technology Services.

Examples of Work

  • Designs codes compiles tests debugs modifies and documents new and existing highly complex mission critical applications. Develops programs within accepted standards procedures and guidelines. Knowledge of business rules VB C# ASP and Visual Studio essential.
  • Produce adhoc reports database queries and computer data files as requested periodically by external State Agencies private organizations or end business clients.
  • Analyzes change requests and determines impact on existing missioncritical systems. Meets with clients to discuss issues define change requests document current and future business requirements and communicate status of existing change requests. This includes impromptu meetings design sessions and informal consultations.
