Job Description Summary

The Plant Arrangement Technical leader will be responsible for providing leadership direction development and resource management of a technical team of engineers and designers supporting GEH Nuclear. In addition you will manage complex issues within the functional area of expertise be involved in longterm planning and contribute to the overall engineering and 3D model development strategy.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team responsible for BWRX300 SMR plant layout and arrangement for Nuclear Island Turbine Island and Balance of Plant systems structures and components from preliminary design through final design for construction up to plant turnover to the customer.
  • Coordination across engineering teams to facilitate layout of Plant System and Component Level requirements and SSCs into the Power Block arrangement.
  • Support development of work instructions and change management of programs in the 3D model including Seismic II/I interaction evaluations Piping/Equipment Attachments Face Plate Coordination Pipe Break Hazards Internal Flooding RAMI and environmental qualification envelope.
  • Interface with internal and external customers design partners and suppliers in support of BWRX300 SMR plant layout plant parameter envelope plant siting requirements.
  • Work across engineering teams to facilitate effective interdisciplinary arrangement/layout interfaces are established and maintained resolve 3D model clash control/support independent 3D model reviews and provide 3D model area management and control.
  • Support production of lifetimerecord documents based on the 3D model that supports Design Licensing Fabrication and Construction.
  • Have accountability for delivering products and services ontime and onbudget
  • Be responsible for team resource planning and project/program assignments
  • Develop and maintain Work Plans Scope of Work packages to suppliers
  • Work collaboratively across the engineering matrix and with business leaders in Product Development Project Delivery Sourcing and Quality to ensure close coordination of technical inputs/outputs project/product requirements workforce planning/scheduling and risk management
  • Have ownership to streamline integrate and develop team technical and management processes to better support business needs across the organization through Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology
  • Act as a technical liaise with customers partner organizations and suppliers as necessary and in close partnership/coordination with Product Development and Project Delivery leaders
  • Partner with business teams and presents product/program strategies technical roadmaps risks and recommendations to senior leads across GEH.

BASIC QUALFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear Mechanical Chemical Structural or similar)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a technology or engineering role

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Nuclear Island Turbine Island and/or Balance of Plant design layout operations and maintenance
  • Demonstrated people management and motivation skills
  • Masters degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience managing highly technical and diverse Engineering teams and functions
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear)
  • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g. NQA1 and ISO 9000
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong problemsolving abilities
  • Prior experience in project delivery and working within a matrix environment
  • Strong customer mindset
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
  • Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skill
