The Mayo Clinic Division of Hospital Internal Medicine in Rochester Minnesota is seeking an AcademicNocturnist.Mayo Clinic is topranked in more specialties than any other care provider according to U.S. News & World Report 202425. A track record as a medical educator and/or researcher is preferred.
The Nocturnist is primarily responsible for patient admissions.
The Nocturnist may perform Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) role which includes triaging patient transfer request calls from Mayo Clinic Health System hospitals and other hospitals around the country and liaising with Emergency Department staff. The MOD has no crosscover or admitting responsibilities.

The Nocturnist will be a fully engaged member of the division and participate in medical research quality improvement leadership and/or educational endeavors to advance patient care at Mayo Clinic.
A qualified candidate must have M.D. D.O. or foreign degree equivalent must have or be eligible for Minnesota medical license and must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Preference is given to candidates withprior experience working in hospital medicineor advanced training (fellowship or Masters degree) and demonstrated scholarly activity (such as publication record or additional training or experience at a topranked academic medical center).
