Faculty Position Vacancy Founded in 1852 Wartburg College is a selective fouryear liberal arts college of the Lutheran Church (ELCA) nationally recognized for community engagement. The college offers more than 50 academic majors and preprofessional and certificate programs leading to the bachelors degree. D. preferred)
- Qualifications and interest in teaching a variety of introductory and intermediate classes in Computer Science
- Successful teaching experience and evidence of potential for teaching excellence
- Interest in interdisciplinary approaches to learning and general education
- Willingness to support the mission of the college
Preferred: - Ph.D. in Computer Science
- Background in theoretical computer science or artificial intelligence and/or willingness to develop in that direction
Successful candidates must be willing to support the Colleges mission and contribute to the strategic plan. DUTIES: The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of tenure track faculty to include: - Teach seven undergraduate courses (usually three in Fall Term three in Winter Term and one in May Term)
- Advise departmental majors
- Consult with students and faculty in areas of expertise
- Teach in the general education program; perform scholarship and service appropriate to a college with a liberal arts emphasis
