Job Description
We are looking for a part time security guardto work at a Mall located in Burlington. As a member of the GardaWorld team your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of client assets tenants and visitors to the assignment area in a professional and courteous manner. This is a part time position paying $16/hr. This is a continental rotating shift and would give about an average of 20 to 28 hours/week.
- Perform patrols on footand by car
- Provide excellent customer service to everyone on the property
- Work closely with the mall services as well as with the emergency services when appropriate
- Assist visitors guests and the renters staff with respect to safety requests for directions escorts package transportation lost vehicles etc.
- Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible manner
- Write daily and incident reports
- Intervene during medical emergencies and provide first aid
- Be prepared to respond to situations of crime urgency and disturbance occurring at the mall
- Facilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areas
- Direct car traffic on the property if necessary
- Monitor closed circuit cameras (if applicable) to ensure proper operation of the shopping center
- Answer and follow up on phone calls received by the security service
- Monitor the fire alarm system and fire extinguisher system

- Possession of a valid provincial security guard licence
- First aid and CPR certification
- Availability to work rotating shifts
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Available to work shift work including weekends and overnight as required
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under stressful situations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team environment
- Knowledge of criminal provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industry
- Must have G2 or G license with clean abstract.
