PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly qualified researcher with a strong interest in applied statistics machine learning and artificial intelligence with a particular focus on timeseries modeling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and applying probabilistic models to advance timeseries analysis.
Key areas of focus for this position include: 1)Probability Theory and Measure Theory : Leveraging foundational mathematical frameworks to design robust modeling approaches. 2 Deep Learning : Exploring cuttingedge techniques such as multimodal data integration diffusion models attention mechanisms and foundation models. 3 TimeSeries Analysis : Specializing in modeling forecasting and anomaly detection to address complex realworld challenges.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative research at the intersection of these domains driving impactful advancements in both theory and application.
DESCRIPTION
Functional Area 1: Research
Percent Effort: 80
Design develop and implement novel AI/ML models with particular emphasis on timeseries and spatiotemporal data.
Formulate mathematical models and derive convergence proofs drawing on probability and measure theory.
Publish research findings at peerreviewed journals and conferences.
Functional Area 2: Grant Writing
Percent Effort: 15
Prepare manuscripts related grant proposals and conference presentations.
Functional Area 3: Teaching
Percent Effort: 5
Teach courses in Department of Mathematics and Statistics
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Data Science Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or a closely related field.
Demonstrated expertise working with multivariate timeseries and spatiotemporal datasets.
Advanced proficiency in Python (or Rust).
12 years of handson experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Documented scholarly achievements in applied statistics machine learning or deep learning (e.g. peerreviewed publications conference presentations).
Proven ability to work effectively with various faculty as well as undergraduate and graduate students.
Capability to function both independently and within a multidisciplinary research team.
Strong organizational and timemanagement skills proactivity accountability and a solid work ethic.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and cooperate with colleagues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong understanding of the mathematics of neural networks large deviations theory and measure theory.
Prior significant contributions to advanced machinelearning or deeplearning models for timeseries analysis.
Evidence of having led a key research project indicated by a firstauthor or correspondingauthor paper in a leading peerreviewed journal or conference.
NOTE: Continued employment contingent upon available funding. This is a twoyear position.
SALARY: $45000 $50000/annually approximately.
$3750 $4166.67/monthly.
