The Hampton campus of Bryant & Stratton College is seeking adjunct professors to teach Biology lecture and laboratory sections in the following areas:
Maintain direct and proactive contact with student advisees. This includes meeting with individuals as well as small groups on an ongoing basis to build rapport identify barriers to success set and review (and revise when necessary) academic and career goals participate in pertinent student success activities (i.e. New Student Orientation campuswide student engagement activities) and develop action plans for related success with a focus on student persistence to graduation.
Convey to and discuss with students the necessary aspects of curriculum course sequencing academic status registration and the importance of longterm career and academic planning. Assist students with registration/provide guidance in course selection to assure optimal (following the prescribed approach) course sequencing to best assure student persistence to graduation.
Monitor academic progress of students; analyzes progress reports from instructors and registrar; identifies current and potential needs or problem areas and refers students to appropriate campus and outside community resources for assistance; communicates findings to deans.
Document all pertinent student information (i.e. attendance); updates student information system regarding changes to student status and support all key departmental operations including tracking statistics retention assessment proper file documentation to ensure that retention initiatives and goals are obtained.
Work collaboratively with other departments to assure that student challenges and needs are addressed and managed.
