Job Summary
Under general supervision this positionassists inproviding a safe educationaland positive learning environment for participants of the State Licensed Large Center Preschool program.
*This position performs duties deemed to besafety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate inpreemployment and random drug testing under Towns policies*

Assistsinmaintaininga safeeducationaland positive learning environment for participants.
Assistsin guiding and supervising program participants through daily activities and lesson plans.
Assistswith the setup teardown and cleanup of daily activities and programs.
Complies withallDepartmental and Townpolicies and regulations as well as requirements for licensing by the State of Colorado.
Assistsin thesetup teardown and cleanup of daily activities and programs.
Assistsin inventory management.
Utilizes effective written and oral communication techniques to communicate with Town of Parker staff management and the public in a positive and professional manner.
Performs otherrelatedduties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education experiencecertificationand/or licensure. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least sixteen 16 years of age.
Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR First Aid and AED certifications within thirty 30 days of hire.
The Town of Parker Fieldhouse Large Center Preschool program is licensed and regulated by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. As a condition of employment candidates for this position must meet criteriaestablishedby Section 7.702.45 (P.50 of theRules and Regulations for Child Care Centers that provide less than 24hour care as they are provided now or amended hereafter.
Employment Standards
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability.
Knowledge of relevant town state and federal laws regulations and policies.
Knowledge of the equipment facilities operations and techniques used inoperatinga licensed childcare facility.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
Skill in the supervision of preschoolaged children.
Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action using problemsolving techniques.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to complete a minimum of fifteen 15 hours of continuing education/training annually.
Ability to successfully pass a preemployment background including but not limited to CBI/FBI criminal record check Department of Social Services Central Registry check and a drug screen.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general office equipment and early childhood education center inventory.
Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting standing walking talking handling feeling or operating objects stooping kneeling crouching or crawling. Requires occasionalreaching with hands and arms climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting up to fifty 50 pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.
Environment
Work isfrequentlyperformed in a climatecontrolled office environment but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level isusually highand may range from moderate to extreme.The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment electrical equipment chemicals or radiant energy.
Parttime and Seasonal Town of Parker employees have limited access to benefits which include: employee assistance program (EAP) one 1 hour of sick time accrued for every thirty 30 hours worked and employee plus one 1 other member in your household a membership to the Parker Recreation Center and/or Fieldhouse.
