As part of their ongoing success our client is looking for a Civil Engineer Lead to join their team and lead key projects particularly in the areas of subdivisions and corporate infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to make an impact through designing and overseeing civil engineering projects while contributing to the professional growth of a talented team.
Key Responsibilities
As theCivil Engineer Lead you will spearhead the design and approval processes for civil engineering projects ensuring they comply with both Provincial and Municipal standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Spearhead the design and approval processes for civil engineering projects related to subdivisions and corporate initiatives.
- Ensure that all projects comply with Provincial and Municipal standards regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide specialized expertise in key civil design components such as grading stormwater management and underground utilities.
- Lead the development of detailed civil designs optimizing for safety efficiency and sustainability.
- Mentor and guide the civil design team ensuring technical excellence and promoting professional growth among junior engineers and staff.
- Foster collaboration support project success and create a positive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external consultants and subconsultants to fulfill diverse project requirements and ensure timely costeffective project delivery.
- Work closely with clients authorities and contractors providing expertise and guidance to ensure smooth project .
- Prepare detailed cost estimates tender documents and engineering reports to support project objectives and inform decisionmaking.
- Maintain accuracy and thoroughness in all projectrelated documentation ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct field inspections during construction phases proactively addressing any designrelated challenges that arise.
- Ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with engineering plans monitoring for quality and adherence to schedules.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards codes and regulatory requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle from design through to construction.
- Keep uptodate with changes in regulations and standards ensuring all projects comply with the latest requirements.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
- A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (. status is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting environment with a strong background in civil engineering design particularly for subdivisions and corporate projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software for effective design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of grading stormwater management and underground utilities design.
- Experience in site surveying and familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills capable of engaging effectively with clients authorities and contractors.
- A detailoriented approach with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and the ability to handle complex engineering challenges.
- A proactive resultsdriven mindset with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
