Current services include comprehensive developmental assessments; physical occupational speech language and infant mental health therapy; special education; family counseling; nutrition and feeding therapy; childcare consultation; parenting education; and family resource coordination.

Purpose

Within the Kindering CHERISH program provide inhome dyadic therapeutic infant mental health services in conjunction with other developmental services to children involved in the Child Welfare System age 03 who are vulnerable because of abuse and/or neglect; include their caregivers and/or parents in service provision.

* This role is for a fulltime position with flexibility of 3040 hours determined upon hire.*

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct clinical intakes participate in a multidisciplinary evaluation team and conduct psychosocial assessments for foster children aged 03 as well as other disciplinespecific assessments when applicable
  • Assess each childs developmental level of socialemotional and cognitive functioning as well as other areas of functioning where indicated; design and implement individual treatment plans; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
  • Provide inhome developmental and other relational supports for parent or caregiver/child dyads around issues of attachment adjustment and emotional development (this includes disciplinespecific interventions as is applicable)
  • Provide systems consultation for childrens caregivers and parents
  • Collaborate and consult with multidisciplinary staff on treatment teams for foster children receiving developmental therapies
  • Facilitate groups as needed. This may include peer groups as well as client/therapeutic groups.
  • Participate in agency program planning and program dissemination including presentations articles referrals interagency collaborations etc.
  • Complete all documentation as required including case notes treatment plans session notes and reports in accordance with Washington States Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Program (ESIT)
  • Participate in clinical consultation and reflective supervision as required
  • Supervise Masterslevel interns as appropriate
  • Provide or support outreach intensive informing care planning coordination anticipatory guidance for complex health needs assistance to access services consultation resource development interagency coordination training program planning quality management and administration to support Medicaid programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

Masters degree in social work or related mental health field

Valid WA state professional license (e.g. LICSW LMHC LMFT Associate Independent Clinical SW etc.

Experience and training in infant mental health psychotherapy and attachment theory

Experience and training in systems (i.e. foster care/child welfare)

Minimum Prerequisites

Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check

Exceptional interpersonal skills reflective capacity and ability to collaborate well

Flexibility in scheduling appointments with clients including at least one evening home visit (i.e. 56pm) a week

A selfstarter who is very organized in order to meet the demands of a highly autonomous position

Demonstrated skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word Outlook and Excel

Possess valid Washington State drivers license and valid automobile insurance

Have access to a dependable personal vehicle

Be able to lift 40 pounds (average threeyearold)

Pass tuberculosis test
