Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is the leading provider of homeless youth services in the DC Region. Through the holistic integration of its Pillars of Opportunity Sasha Bruce is able to provide safe homes life skills and workforce development to meet the unique needs of homeless youth. For more than 45 years Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at bringing an end to youth homelessness in the DC region. Today its programs in DC and Prince Georges County MD reach over 6500 runaway homeless abused and neglected youth and their families.
About The SBY Therapeutic Group Home
The Sasha Bruce Therapeutic Group Home is one of Sasha Bruces newest programs serving six youth ages 1317 from foster care who present with an Axis 1 diagnosis. The program has a high level of structure supervision behavior management/modification and clinical intervention due to the nature of the emotional and behavioral conditions.
Position Summary
The Clinician and Clinical Services Lead will serve as a clinical leader within the Therapeutic Group Home reporting to the Program Director. This role will maintain a comprehensive clinical understanding of each client in the program assessing their needs holistically and determining the necessary servicesboth within Allen House and through external providersto support their overall wellbeing. The Clinician and Clinical Services Lead will collaborate closely with the CFSA Social Worker and Allen House clinical team (including the Linkages to Care Coordinator Behavior Technician and Case Manager) to evaluate existing services identify gaps and implement strategies to overcome barriers to engagement. Additionally this role will work under the guidance of the Program Director to integrate the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) philosophy into program processes and daily operations. The Clinician and Clinical Services Lead will also provide direct clinical services to clients including individual group and occasionally family therapy.
Qualifications
Required License/Certification: Masters Degree in Social Work; LICSW preferred with at least 2 years of experience providing services in behavioral health addiction treatment and mental health;
Preferred: 35 years of experience providing services in behavioral health addiction treatment and mental health; experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting or in the community;
A minimum of 2 years of extensive experience with at risk youth;
Competency in crisis intervention and deescalation;
Modalities may include Family Systems CBT Somatic Experiencing Group and EMDR;
Provision of LGBTQ affirming depathologized care;
Strong communication and organizational skills required; and
This is a fulltime exempt level position. All candidates must possess a valid drivers license and have reliable transportation; pass the required clearances; and provide any additional information regarding previous records if necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Service Coordination:
Collaborate with the clinical team to oversee and coordinate services for each client ensuring a holistic approach to addressing their needs.
Facilitate monthly clinical team meetings for each client with internal and external providers to review progress identify challenges and plan next steps.
Identify and troubleshoot barriers to service engagement working with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.
Clinical Leadership within Program:
Oversee the development of Behavior Modification and Management Plans (BMMP) with the Behavior Technician ensuring they are traumainformed and aligned with the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) framework and Sasha Bruces philosophy of care.
Collaborate with the Case Manager to develop Individualized Case Plans ensuring plans are traumainformed actionable and consistent with TCI and the organizations care philosophy.
Support the Linkages to Care Coordinator in assessing client eligibility for communitybased services and facilitating access to these services as outlined in client case plans.
Provide clinical training and support to program staff under the guidance of the Program Director and in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Care.
Obtain certification as a TCI trainer and lead TCI training for program staff. Work with the Program Director to integrate TCI philosophy and strategies into program structures procedures and daily operations.
Direct Clinical Services to Clients:
Provide direct clinical services to youth including individual group and occasionally family therapy.
Deliver individual crisis intervention to clients onsite including deescalation and stabilization as needed.
Facilitate psychoeducation groups on topics such as grief/loss human trafficking coping skills mental health and overall wellbeing using evidencebased practices.
Provide anger management support to clients through individual and group sessions.
Complete all service documentation within 48 hours ensuring accuracy confidentiality and compliance with program standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in clinical supervision with the Sasha Bruce Director of Clinical Care.
Attend staff meetings supervision conferences and community outreach events as required.
Complete a minimum of 40 hours of training annually to maintain professional development.
Be available for evening and weekend shifts as needed to meet program demands.
Perform other duties as assigned.
