Estimator We are actively seeking anEstimatorto assume full responsibility and ownership for assigned projects. This candidate will be working with a team servicing our key markets and collaborating with local and regional operations personnel as well as project managers and market leads in various markets in the country. This position is physically remote / virtual setting and does not require travel or relocation. Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients vendors personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve project issues.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time cost materials and labor estimates.
- Build scope data and identify bid forms for requesting proposals from subcontractors and vendors and subsequently leveling bids for low qualified value
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Confer with engineers architects owners contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning organizing and scheduling work.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products projects or services tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more costeffective to produce or purchase components.
Skills/Qualifications: - 12 years of commercial construction estimating experience required construction management / field experience a plus; MEP knowledge and contacts across all construction divisions
- Associates degree in Construction Management preferred
- Knowledge of CSI code and construction division scopes required for commercial construction projects
- Proficiency with MS Office including Excel Word Power Point Outlook experience with On Center Onscreen Takeoff a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as blueprints and construction drawings safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Strong conceptual estimating skills organized and analytical mindset.
- Excellent time management skills; ability to work in a fastpaced selfdirected entrepreneurial environment
