Summary of Position: The Graduate Assistant will assist and support the head coach with various duties and tasks both on and off the field as well as embrace a strong desire to see the best for the program and student athletes. They must align with the vision of the Head Coach and report to and work alongside them to accomplish that vision. The successful candidate must have a heart for teaching the sport of Soccer and possess a strong desire to integrate their personal faith and the truths of Christianity in their work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Graduate Assistant must be committed to the Lordship of Christ. This not only means having the correct intellectual belief but it involves a radical transformation in every area of ones lifestyle
- The Graduate Assistant must continually seek opportunities to grow and possess strong character traits through the regular practicing of the spiritual disciplines (e.g. prayer meditation Bible reading) and develop ministry values that express what God can do in impacting student athletes with whom they interact
- The Graduate Assistants ministry strategy is to serve student athletes and the entire campus by creating a spiritually rich environment supporting community development quality programs and exciting innovative initiatives
- The reporting relationship is to the Head Coach and Athletic Director
- The primary responsibilities are to assist support and encourage a successful intercollegiate athletic program representing coaches and student athletes
- Assist the Head Coach to develop manage and successfully coach soccer to include scheduling recruiting equipment management reporting scores and statistics and website updating
- Ensure strict adherence to all NAIA and NCCAA by laws and regulations
- Ensure adherence with established institutional compliance rules policies and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior
- Responsible for successful coaching to include maximizing the teams potential abilities keeping athletes eligible supporting the spiritual development of each player and retaining athletes through graduation
- Assist to propagate a comprehensive public relations program
- Assist the operations of sport camps and or clinics
- Learn understand and adhere to all NAIA rules and regulations
- Assist in coordinating and developing organized schedules
- Assist in planning and implementing daily practice sessions

Education - Bachelors Degree required
Experience - Played at the collegiate level and/or youth coaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Required Skills - Must demonstrate a knowledge for the game of soccer and willingness to continue to grow
- Must demonstrate a mature and expressive Christian faith commitment
- Needs to passionately support and articulate the University mission and vision for athletics within the context of that mission
- Need to be gifted in supervising and motivating others
- Must be creative and innovative; discerning and a thorough planner
