PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Responsible for physical grain handling facility operations daily grain movement and routine elevator maintenance.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Leads grain operators and seasonal/temporary employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitors quality and condition of all grain moving through or stored in facility.
Manages aeration of grain to maintain grain quality and minimize shrinkage.
Conducts periodic physical inventory measurements for comparison to book inventory.
Assures proper segregation of all inbound commodities performs and monitors effective blending of all outbound grain.
Manages the workforce for receiving and shipping grain.
Performs periodic inspections of all elevator equipment and identifies existing problem areas.
Schedules operational tasks.
Conducts routine maintenance and repairs housekeeping and safety policy implementation.
Maintains awareness of grain market action.
Maintains the office and elevator area to project a quality image.
Responsible for implementation of required safety procedures and training employees concerning company and government standards.
Maintains proper housekeeping practices.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
May be required to issue inbound/outbound grain accounting documents.
Supports marketing efforts of the company.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a Bachelors degree high school diploma or the equivalent thereof and 2 years or more of grain related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of grain handling and quality control.
Normally requires agricultural background.
Mechanical ability required.
Normally requires basic electrical knowledge.
Must be able to obtain a Grain Grading Certificate
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge collaboration communication customer focus decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid CDL license with Hazmat endorsement and satisfactory driving record.
Frequently required to lift 50 pounds or more and work at heights over 150 feet. Frequently exposed to dust extreme heat extreme cold and high noise level.
Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal.
Ability to travel independently and overnight.
