Job Description

Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln Rhode Island is a state school that prepares students with a technical skill set and training they can carry to future careers. Over 90 of graduates leave Davies with industry certification with students choosing from across nine different career areas: Automotive Careers Electrical Machine Technology PreEngineering Biomanufacturing Technology Education and Childcare Health Careers Hospitality Careers and Graphics & Interactive Media. By providing handson training and career preparation we not only help our students discover new passions we help ensure each Davies graduate has the academic background and technical skills needed for future success.Davies is now hiring a Long Term Substitute Health Teacher!(The position will run from April 2025May 2025 exact dates to be determined)QualificationsRI Teacher Certification in HealthSecondary teaching experience preferredMasters degree preferredSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptableEssential Duties/Responsibilities Develop and implement effective instruction linked to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) or other content specific area at the secondary level that will facilitate meaningful learning in the course competencies of curriculumMaintain student record including grades attendance and performance measures that assess and improve student learningFoster a safe and productive learning environment Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that will allow students to master State and National standardsPerform other duties as assigned Skills & Understanding RequiredCommunicates and collaborates effectively with students families and colleagues
