About the headspace Townsville service:

headspace Townsville under the leadership of their lead agency Stride deliver high quality evidencebased clinical care to achieve better health outcomes for young people aged 1225 years.

Our multidisciplinary team supports young people in the Townsville region by providing support for mental health physical health alcohol and other drug use and getting into work and study.

headspace Townsville offers a number of evidence based mental health and wellbeing treatments that range from low intensity brief interventions through to high intensity longterm interventions. These include:

• OneAtATime supports when young people may only be needing a few sessions with a clinician to work on current stressors or concerns.
• Moderate intensity mediumterm individual and group therapy when young people may need a few more sessions to work on specific concerns such as anxiety depression or other mental health difficulties. This includes Medicare bulkbilled sessions via a MHTP.
• A dedicated suicide prevention program (You Are Not Alone YANA) that provides timelimited high intensity interventions for young people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
• A dedicated trauma program (Tern program) that provides recovery focused longterm high intensity interventions for young people who have experienced multiple traumas throughout their lives.

Working as a Private Practitioner your income will be derived directly from Medicare Bulk Billings so you will need to be eligible to provide services under the Medicare Benefits Scheme(MBS Better Access)and successful applicants will be asked to provide evidence of compliance.

Role Overview:

• Provide high standard assessments psychological support counselling and therapeutic interventions with 1225 yearolds
• Liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders
• Communicate with a GP following sessions 1 6 and 10
• Be a part of the innovative headspace model
