Posting Summary
A postdoctoral position is available with the research group of Professor Gabriel Kotliar at the Rutgers Center for Materials Theory CMT starting immediately. Salary will be commensurate with ability and experience. Our research interests are very broad. We are working on a variety of research problems ranging from the conceptual challenges posed by strongly correlated electron materials to the development of codes to carry out firstprinciples calculations of materials. We work on the interpretation of experiments and the design of new materials together with experimental groups. In addition we are interested in developing new field theory methods computational methods and electronic structure techniques for strongly correlated systems. Our research program is suitable for strong candidates with expertise in these areas. We have strong ties with many exciting theoretical and experimental research efforts in the NJ/NY area including Simons Collaboration Grant on the manyelectron problem and a DOE grant with the center for theoretical spectroscopy and material design (a joint effort with LANL Rutgers and Brookhaven National Laboratories). We have close ties with the chemistry department at Rutgers with the flatiron CCQ and other theory and experimental members of the Rutgers and Brookhaven Condensed Matter Theory and Experiment groups. The successful candidate will have opportunities to diversify their research through these collaborations. Many postdocs trained in Professor Kotliars group have maintained a worldclass reputation for groundbreaking and creative research.
