Job Description
Job Title: Senior Construction Estimator MultiFamily Projects
Location: South Shore MA (No Travel Required)
Company Overview: Our client a premier construction firm based on the South Shore of Massachusetts is dedicated to excellence in largescale multifamily residential projects throughout New England. Specializing in projects up to $100 million the firm is known for its precision collaboration and high standards. They are currently seeking a Senior Construction Estimator who will play a crucial role in driving project success from the office while providing mentorship to junior estimators and supporting a collaborative team environment.
Position Overview: The Senior Construction Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimation process for complex multifamily projects from the South Shore office with no travel required. This position is integral to ensuring competitive accurate and comprehensive bid packages aligned with the firms quality standards. The role also involves mentoring junior estimators to enhance skill development accuracy and consistency within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for multifamily residential projects up to $100 million.
- Review architectural and engineering plans specifications and RFPs to determine project scope and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and determine costs for labor materials equipment and subcontractors.
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers ensuring full coverage of project scope and competitive pricing.
- Collaborate closely with project managers architects and engineers to support value engineering initiatives and identify costsaving opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior estimators ensuring accuracy skill growth and best practices within the estimating team.
- Manage bid timelines conduct bid reviews and present estimates to leadership.
- Stay updated on market trends material costs and labor rates particularly for New Englands multifamily construction market.
- Participate in postbid reviews to refine estimating practices and continuously improve the teams efficiency and accuracy.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management civil engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating specifically with multifamily projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. ProEst Bluebeam Sage Estimating or PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of New England building codes regulations and market pricing relevant to multifamily construction.
- Proven experience in mentoring junior estimators with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail ensuring highquality accurate estimates.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment providing clear and effective communication.
