The primary purpose of the PRN Staff SpeechLanguage Pathologist Therapist (SLP) is to evaluate and treat patients communicate with families physicians and other health team members and maintain documentation of services in the medical records. In addition will conduct inservices and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis.

We are seeking a dedicated and professional PRN SpeechLanguage Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will evaluate and treat patients develop effective treatment plans and provide highquality care while complying with state practice acts facility policies and thirdparty payer requirements. This position requires excellent communication and documentation to ensure patient progress and outcomes meet established goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation & Treatment:
    • Evaluate patients within 24 hours (or one business day) of physician referral; document any delays in the medical record.
    • Develop effective treatment plans and secure approval for services from the referring physician.
    • Administer treatment in accordance with the physicianapproved plan.
  • Supervision & Collaboration:
    • Supervise SpeechLanguage Pathologist Assistants in direct patient care and related activities adhering to state practice acts.
    • Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members about patient progress challenges and plans.
    • Participate in Patient Care Conferences Utilization Review meetings and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
  • Education & Training:
    • Conduct inservice training programs for facility staff.
    • Instruct patient families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
    • Serve as a clinical preceptor for CFY/RFP SpeechLanguage Pathologists and student programs.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including evaluations daily treatment notes weekly progress reports and recertification documents per state and payer requirements.
    • Record and update treatment changes according to facility policies and procedures.
    • Comply with the SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology Bureau State Practice Act and facility policies.
  • Discharge Planning:
    • Actively participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology required; Masters or Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Proficient in computer systems and data entry using platforms such as Casamba and Point Click Care (PCC).
  • Skills:
    • Ability to relate positively effectively and appropriately with patients residents families staff and professional colleagues.
    • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
