Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for management and supervision of the Nursing Department including personnelMedical Assistant Supervisor Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) Registered Nurses (RN) Phlebotomists Scribes this includes the Manchester Point Arena Satellite Clinic. Ensures quality patient care and may assist nursing personnel/providers with procedures such as triage patient intake immunizations and phlebotomy. Adheres to the California Nursing Practice Act at all times.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervision of nursing department staff to assure a high quality of professional service performance and continuous quality improvement participation in continuing inservice education and training activities.
  2. Participation in Medical Department staff recruitment of Licensed Vocational Nurses Registered Nurses Scribes and Phlebotomists including interviewing applicants and selection of employees.
  3. Oversight of personnel management functions including training assigning duties scheduling reviewing/evaluating employee performance and addressing issues.
  4. Participation in planning of annual budget and budgeting recommendations.
  5. Monitors budget expenditures including medical supplies and other medical clinic needs to ensure expenses are within budget limits and smooth clinic functioning is maintained.
  6. Monitors timekeeping system for nursing department and expedites the transport of information to the Fiscal Department. Also assists with grant management.
  7. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government regulations Medical Department functions and ensures policies procedures and reporting are in compliance.
  8. Oversight of the Medical Assistant Supervisor who is responsible for ordering rotation of stock inventory management of vaccines for the Vaccines for Children Program liaison with the Sonoma County Public Health Department regarding vaccines and their management.
  9. Demonstrates flexibility and is adaptable to change and is able to inspire others to welcome change.
  10. Develops and fosters a solid partnership with physicians medical department staff and SCIHP leaders care teams and other employees to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives to resolve operational challenges and to improve processes.
  11. Participation in Quality Improvement activities.
  12. Ensures maintenance of clinic medical equipment and quality control measures.
  13. Participates in Department Head meetings and other meetings as designated by the Medical Director.
  14. Participates in activities promoting professional growth and promotes a professional image of the nursing profession.
  15. Always maintain patient confidentiality.
  16. May provide direct clinical services up to the extent of his/her licensure and as required or needed to maintain their license at the discretion of the Medical Director.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Current unrestricted License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
  2. Bachelors degree in nursing or related field;
  3. Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  4. Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
  5. Certified Nurse Manger and Leader (CNML) certification a plus.
  6. Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current unrestricted License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
  2. Bachelors degree in nursing.
  3. Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  4. Ability to understand and adhere to established policies procedures and protocols.
  5. Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
  6. Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact diplomacy and discipline.
  7. Strong charting/documentation skills. Electronic Health Records
