Assembles repairs or refits entire units that fail tests or tolerance levels within assigned cell(s) (includes multiple workstations/jobs).

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

We are now recruiting for a Production Technician to work as part of our production team building testing troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of underwater sensors and systems and throughtheearth communications solutions. Working with general supervision the Production Technician performs the following job duties:

Assembles tests inspects troubleshoots and repairs a wide range of electronics or electromechanical parts subassemblies or assemblies in accordance with specifications diagrams and drawings;

Applies their knowledge to provide timely testing and troubleshooting on products;

Builds test equipment;

Builds electronic jigs and fixtures;

Basic maintenance of test equipment;

Test equipment calibration;

Compiles and analyses records statistics and formulates basic reports as required;

Applies formula and calculations as required;

Recognizes and initiates investigations for workmanship nonconformances.

Other tasks as assigned.


Required Skills:

Grade 12 with recognized community college technician/technologist qualification;

Up to date knowledge of electronic materials principles circuit construction and quality control procedures.

The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects

Desired Skills:

Good working knowledge of recognized industry workmanship standards;

Soldering skills compliant with recognized industry workmanship standards;

Proven mechanical aptitude;

Proficient in the use of basic software applications such as email web browser word processing and database operation;

Excellent problem solving skills;

Good communication skills (verbal and written);

Good understanding and application of lean manufacturing principles;

Ability to maintain a high level of productivity without compromising quality standards;

Attitude: has a positive cando attitude in everyday work. Is able to deal with and support change;

Ability to meet the physical job demands.
