Clyde & Co is seeking an Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate with 4 to 6 years of experience for its Boston office. The ideal candidate would be proactive motivated possesses superior writing skills and have experience with general liability excess directors & officers construction defect healthcare environmental toxic tort and/or other types of liability insurance coverage matters and with extracontractual claims.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis and generation of advice regarding insurance coverage for underlying claims and litigation;
  • Monitoring underlying litigation;
  • Representing insurers in all phases of coverage and extracontractual litigation with policyholders and claimants including:
    • Preparation of pleadings
    • Written documentary and deposition discovery
    • Motion practice
    • Settlement
    • Hearings and trial
    • Appeals

Education and Experience

  • J.D. from a reputable law school with excellent academic credentials;
  • Admission to practice in Massachusetts (required);
  • Admission to practice in other Northeastern states (not required but a plus);
  • Relevant experience

Skills and Ability

  • Exceptional legal analysis research writing and communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills:
  • Proficiency with document management and review systems and software
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
