Job Description:
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available to work on a project on the protoplanetary disk and planet formation research led by Dr. Jaehan Bae in the Department of Astronomy. The anticipated start date is September 1 2024 but can be negotiated.
We have a position available in our group to work on the development of a machinelearning tool to search for young forming exoplanets embedded in protoplanetary disks which will be applied to archival and newly obtained ALMA data. We are looking for individuals familiar with (or eager to learn) hydrodynamic simulations radiative transfer calculations machine learning and/or ALMA observations.
The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy Astrophysics Physics or Computer Science by the date of appointment. This position will be initially awarded for one year and contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds may be renewed for up to three years.

Advertised Salary:
The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
