Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Data Engineering Manager withover 8 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have extensive
expertise in big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop and possessstrong programming skills in Python. Experience with Scala is a plus. As anEngineering Manager you will lead and mentor a team of data engineers overseethe design and implementation of data systems and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure that our data infrastructure meets the highest standardsof performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mentor and manage a team of data engineers and tech leads. You willbe responsible to build hire and grow the team.
- Collaborate with product managers data analysts and other stakeholders tounderstand data requirements plan and deliver high quality data solutions
- Manage project timelines resources and deliverables to meet businessobjectives by managing all crossfunctional and crossteam collaboration anddependencies
- Design implement and optimize scalable data pipelines and data processingsystems using big data technologies like Apache Spark and Hadoop. Ensuredata quality consistency and security across all data systems
- Work on relentless pursuing of goals on data coverage data freshness dataquality and key performance & SLA metrics
- Have high technical competence and background with track record of individualtechnical accomplishments Ability to play the role of the architect for the team.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practicestools and processes for development and and champion theiradoption.
- Create clear career paths for team members and help them grow with regularcoaching and mentoring; Perform regular performance evaluation and shareand seek feedback.
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and emerging technologies to driveinnovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a relatedfield.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a related field with atleast 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in big data technologies including Apache Spark HadoopHive and related tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java; experiencewith Scala is a plus.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data systems andpipelines.
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical abilities and a proactive approach toaddressing challenges.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and datawarehousing solutions (e.g. Snowflake Redshift) is a plus.
