Do you enjoy working outdoors Lacombe County is accepting applications for a fulltime seasonal Sandy Point Beach General Labourer to maintain the beach area at Sandy Point (on the south western shores of Gull Lake). This is a 4 or 5 month position beginning April 28 2025 to August 29 or September 26 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the beach for cleanliness: clean and restock the washroom facilities empty the garbage receptacles etc.
Operate basic hand and power tools including hand mowers power mowers tractor mowers heavy equipment (Tool Cat) etc.
Perform a variety of landscaping and cleanup activities as directed.
Interact with the public in a tactful and professional manner.
Participate in workplace safety initiatives and meetings as required. Report to work fit for duty.
Key Qualifications
Have experience (and enjoy) working outdoors in various weather conditions. Be able to perform lifting and moving of objects of up to 40lbs.
Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of small equipment (mowers eaters tractors etc. and to those who have previous related labour experience.
Selfmotivated and able to work well with minimum supervision.
Possess and be able to maintain a valid Class 5 Albertas Drivers License (current abstract required upon hire).
Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm courteous and respectful manner.
This position is considered a safety/sensitive position. The successful applicant will need to participate in the PreEmployment Drug and Alcohol Testing.
The wage for this position starts at $24.46/hr (includes stat and vacation pay) for the first 8hrs and $33.00/hr for overtime hours.
Normal working hours are 9.5 hrs/day 8hrs regular 1.5hrs OT) from 7AM5PM Sunday to Thursday OR 9AM7PM Tuesday to Saturday.
