ECMS-DCS Engineer

Project Engineering:

• Collect and review of project inputs from the Front Office or from the customer site through email kick off meeting site survey. Driving DCS and SCADA based ECMS greenfield and retrofit projects. Establish Hybrid/ Microgrid Project capabilities
• Develop control system network architecture diagrams datalinks points list control narratives control logic diagrams protection and control drawings and procurement specifications for ECMS & Hybrid/ Microgrid Control System equipment
• Provide remote support to the field construction team on how to solve and fix issues. Experience with IEC 61850 Modbus OPC UA and other control system protocols over TCP/IP or serial
• Experience with protective relays substation and renewable energy automation systems. Experience with SEL RTAC and equivalent IED architecture design and configuration
• Guide team to implement controls from SAMA functional diagrams or functional descriptions; modifications of DCS/SCADA graphics; creation of faceplate macros control macros and their testing
• Create/modify of DCS internal point database; extraction of HW IO list from customer drawings; preparation of database; querying with HW team and customer for any clarifications needed. Preparation and guiding the team on IO list and DBID. Complete knowledge of building blocks of DCS system like various logic algorithms
• Implement analogue and digital simulation logic for first pass and tieback simulation testing of implemented controls and graphics. Guide the drafting of HW engineering drawings like system architecture general assembly (GA) and network architecture
• Configure 3^rd party protocols ELC and SLC communication. Participation in kickoff meetings (KOM) internal and external meetings of projects. Engaging in customer demos FATs SATs and commissioning activities. Able to do process testing of ECMS functions
• Experience in different equipment and devices used in the electrical industry including generators motors breakers transformers capacitor banks synchronizers etc. Proven understanding of industrial standards like IEEE IEC NEC and Grid codes.
• Maintain and update departments Quality & HSE processes and procedures as per ISO guidelines. Ensuring 100 consistency of processes in all projects
• Distribute the engineering work to system integrators; making adequate followup for completion of project within budget on/before time and with quality. Assisting manager for tracking of utilization targets and preparing MORs

Field Services:

• Prepare site plans with help of project manager. Owning the site team for Ovation system power up excess and I/O testing. Maintaining protocols for loop check device check and panel charging. Owning the site team for Analog and Binary Device testing and fault finding.
• Engage with customer and vendors on technical aspects of site commissioning and report the progress and flags the roadblocks and challenges to site manager or project manager. Fault diagnosis of Ovation system network system and various communication interfaces like OPC Modbus DNP3 serial IEC 61850 etc.
• Check loop and device and vital modifications in the logics graphics and database as per customer /site requirements. Working closely with engineering team for fixing of HW/SW (e.g. controllers modules link modules etc.
• ECMS commissioning for commercial operation. Customer facing and preparation of site report. Coordination with vendors and front offices
  

• Bachelors degree or masters degree in electrical control & Instrumentation power engineering or equivalent experience
• Four 4 to Six 6 years of experience in electrical industry or DCS vendor company preferably in power plant with knowledge of DCS/PLC programming/Engineering / commissioning.
• Excellent language and communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Ability to write reports & business communication. Ability to efficiently present information and respond to queries from groups of managers clients and customers.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors & subcontractors and willing to travel in India and abroad.
• Should have good understanding of safety tools and gears and safety guidelines of working at site.
  

• Proficient in ECMS components functions and OEMs and Proficient in C programming.
• Good knowledge in electrical equipment like switchboards generators turbines AVRs motors transformers capacitors CTs VTs feeders meters relays.
