Our patients have access to groundbreaking therapies in a community setting and may participate in national clinical research studies of and treatment protocols. In the past five years the majority of new cancer approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval.

Assist physicians with medical procedures in the office. Responsible for phlebotomy laboratory testing quality control instrument troubleshooting and maintenance.
High School or GED
BLS is required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide a BLS course within the first 30 days).
Valid Medical Assistant Certification Required from one of these 5 approved boards:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) from the National Health Career Association (NHA)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologist (AMT)
The National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistants (NRCMA)
Nationally Certified Medical Assistant RMA(AAH) from American Allied Health
Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) from the American Medical Certification Association
Valid Drivers License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
One year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physicians office with the ability to perform venipuncture is preferred.
Analysis & Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills including solid problemsolving analysis decisionmaking planning time management and organizational skills. Must be detailoriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Interpersonal Effectiveness: Developed interpersonal skills emotional intelligence diplomacy tact conflict management delegation skills and diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. A second language is an asset but not required. Effective communication skills (oral written presentation) is an active listener and effectively provides balanced feedback.
Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices strong business and political acumen collaboration and partnerships as well as positive employee physician and community relations.
Effectively manages own time conflicting priorities self stress and professional development. Selfmotivated and selfstarter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Must be able to work effectively in a fastpaced multisite environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
Proficiency in MS Office Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook required.

Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required and weekend shifts based on location hours and operational needs.
