New London Local Schools is seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. As a vital part of our commitment to student safety and wellbeing school bus drivers play a crucial role in transporting students to and from school in a secure and timely manner. If you are a reliable and safetyconscious individual with excellent driving skills we invite you to apply for this rewarding position.

Responsibilities:

Safe Transportation: Safely operate a school bus while adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
Student Welfare: Ensure the wellbeing of students during transportation maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
Route Management: Follow assigned routes and schedules making necessary adjustments when required.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pretrip and posttrip inspections reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students parents school staff and transportation department personnel.
Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to handle emergency situations including evacuations and first aid if necessary.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily mileage fuel consumption and other relevant information.
Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations governing school bus operations.

Qualifications:

Ohio CDL with School Bus Endorsement: Possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement in the state of Ohio.
Clean Driving Record: Demonstrate a safe and responsible driving history.
Physical Fitness: Ability to pass required physical examinations and screenings.
Background Check: Successfully complete a thorough background check including criminal history and driving record checks.
Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students parents and colleagues.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a school bus driver isnot required.
