Job Description
St. Bartholomew Parish in Bethesda Maryland a friendly community alive with the Holy Spirit is hiring a Youth Minister who will report to the Pastor.
The Youth Minister will work with an existing thriving and growing youth group.
This role is 30 hours per week and the salary range is $39000 to $46000 with outstanding benefits

The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission St. Bartholomew Parish is seeking a Youth Minister.
Position Summary
The Youth Minister must be a practicing Roman Catholic who is faithful to the magisterium of the Church. This individual must be a leader who can bring others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. The Youth Minister coordinates the outreach to and Evangelization of all youth and have experience in Faith Formation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan develop and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of group building worship discipleship mission and outreach
- Coordinate weekly youth gatherings for both Middle and High School programs provide periodic Service Work Camp Spring Summer Fall and Winter Retreats and Parent Meetings
- Coordinate the recruitment training and evaluating of volunteers
- Coordinate the outreach to and evangelize of all young people in the parish
- Work with Director of Religious Education and School Principal to form cohesive youth outreach and formation
- Understand accept and implement the vision statement of the parish
- Provide support opportunities for networking and resource ideas for parish staff and volunteer leaders working in youth ministry
- Consult with pastors to develop and/or sustaining effective ministry to youth and young adults in parochial settings
- Plan and provide training opportunities for Young Adult Leaders
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Theology Catechetic or other related field required. Minimum of one to three years experience working in ministry. Must be practicing Catholic with a strong belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and have the ability to articulate this to various audiences.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have excellent organizational skills and experience in public speaking and training. Requires working knowledge of pastoral plans and documents concerning youth and young adult ministry. Must be dedicated and flexible
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a 30 hour per week position with benefits. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
