Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a Datacenter Technician to join the Network Team composed by 8 members 5 Network Reliability Engineers and 3 Network Administrators).
In this role you will take the full leadership of the assets management for our 3 VPCloud datacenters located in the Paris FR & Amsterdam NL area.
Some of your main missions : define and maintain the datacenter urbanization plan keep data uptodate in the Source of Truth (Netbox) operate proximity gestures on any devices types (servers storage network PDUs) configure devices at a basic level define related frameworks and workflows to ensure these operations are handled properly.
This position is available in the Paris region (Regular travel to St Denis and VitrysurSeine to be expected). Exceptionally some travel to Amsterdam could be required and / or some operations may be requested from you during nonworking hours.
TASKS
- Lay cabling in the datacenter (UTP and fiber optic)
- Contribute to and lead efforts/projects in the deployment maintenance and support of current and new datacenter infrastructure
- Understand overall ticket management process
- Perform power cycles swap out failed components handle storage media and perform troubleshooting
- Perform testing and troubleshooting using standard datacenter processes
- Physically assist in moving and racking equipment
- Take ownership of Datacenter and get the most up to date inventory
- Manage inventory of materials and consumables.
- Adhere to security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of datacenter operations.
MUST HAVE skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing computer hardware and server hardware
- Ability to lift/move 25kg) equipment as required
- Experience with maintenance and monitoring of server systems
- Experience with network device and network troubleshooting
- Experience with capacity planning
- Basic working knowledge of CE infrastructures (e.g. UPS Generator AHU etc.
- Valid driver license within your DCs local jurisdiction
- You can perform your work in a structured and careful manner
- You have good oral and written communication in French and English
- You like to work in a team
- You are solutionoriented and you are able to put the customer first
NICE TO HAVE skills
- Knowledge of cabling standards (Optical FIber / Copper)
- Basic automation understanding (Python Google Sheet)
